Summer Camp 2009

Mad Science of Windsor runs two different types of summer camp programs:  Partner Day Camps and Full Day Camps.

In addition to our summer camp programs, Mad Science is also available as a resource to Summer & Vacation Program Directors to come out and add a science component to your summer/vacation program or camp.  Please see details below:

 

Partner Day Camps

In these hands-on science specialty camps children will boldly go where bright young minds love to go while having fun and learning about science.

• 1 to 3 hours of Mad Science a day depending on the partner camp. Campers spend the remainder of the day in the partner camp program.

   

• Different topics than those presented in our After School Program and current Full Day Camp

   

• A variety of projects for the campers to make and take home.

   

• All materials are provided.

   

To register for these camps, you must call the partner organization. Costs vary by partner organization. Please check with the partner organization to confirm camp pricing, dates and times.

Special Offer

Get 15-20 children together and provide a location and we will bring our Partner Camp to you. We will even customize it to the number of hours per day that you want. This is great for summer camps, beaver-cubs-scouts/sparks-guides-pathfinders, sports teams, church groups, etc.

 

Full Day Camps

 

Mad Science of Windsor is proud to present the Mad Science full day summer camp program. We will be running eight weeks of fun, crazy, wild science at seven different locations. Plan to send your children to one of our camps for a positively Mad Summer of Science!

• Full Day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) weeklong program with each day having its own theme*.

   

• Lots of hands-on science fun for children ages 6-12.

   

• A variety of creative projects for the children to make and take home.

   

• Two Instructors per camp with enrollment limited to 20 children per camp.

   

• Registration on a "first-come, first-served" basis.

   

• Receipts for Income Tax purposes will be issued at the end of summer.

   

Full Day Camp 2009
Rockin' Rockets & Aerodynamics
(last offered in 2005)

From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flight, this week long, hands-on program will allow children to build many different flying devices while discovering just how amazing our Milky Way is!  Explore the fundamentals of aerodynamics and determine the role that wind, and the movement of air, plays on simple flying machines!  Learn about celestial navigation!  Investigate how Newton's Laws of Motion help explain how things move and how rockets fly!

Our mission is to provide children ages 3 through 12 with educational, entertaining and exciting activities that instill a clearer understanding of how science affects the world around them. All of our programming is hands-on and interactive. Your campers will touch, see, hear, smell and taste what science is really all about.

Consider offering a Mad Science program at your facility as part of your vacation or summer program. We bring fun, hands-on, interactive science activities to your location.  We are available for PA Days, School Holidays, the March Break as well as summer vacation. MAKE AND TAKE FUN STATION

Make and take fun stations give your campers the opportunity to participate in some cool hands-on activities and experiments while creating something such as slime, super balls or putty that they get to take home with them. They are suitable for groups of 10-12 children rotating through in 5-minute intervals. We have about 12 different fun stations for you to choose from.

SPECTACULAR SHOWS

Scheduling problems? Not with these one-time events! Entertain up to several hundred campers with one of our fast-paced, high-energy shows. Our shows highlight the very best of Mad Science and are interactive, spectacular and fun—sure to leave your campers with memories that will last well beyond our grand finale.

PRESCHOOL AND SCHOOL AGE WORKSHOPS

Workshops allow your campers to get the full potential out of Mad Science. With 45-60 minutes devoted to a specific topic, children are really able to sink their teeth into some of our best experiments. These small group presentations allow for much more hands-on science fun! With over 40 topics to choose from, we’re sure that you’ll exhaust before our ideas do!
